Rating System... but make it coffee
Because not every read is a perfect cold brew - and some are straight up decaf.
This is how I rate books, from "favorites forever" to "why did I finish this?". All served with a shot of sass and a splash of caffeine.
This book hit harder than a triple shot of espresso. Total book hangover—kept me up late and stayed in my head like a good caffeine buzz. Shelf-worthy, a forever fave, and strong enough to skip the decaf.
This book? Like a good cortado—smooth, bold, and hits just right. Not an all-time fave, but it left a mark and brought a shot of joy. Definitely a solid one I’m happy to recommend.
This one was like a latte that looked amazing but needed just a bit more kick. A solid read with some enjoyable moments, even if a few parts didn’t quite hit the mark. Still, it might be the perfect blend for someone else’s shelf.
Like a fancy café drink that looks great on the menu but leaves you wondering why you paid for it. I stuck it out (because I don’t DNF lightly), but it just wasn’t my brew. Still, every cup has its crowd—this one just wasn’t mine.
I don’t give out 1 stars lightly, but this book? Straight-up decaf—looked like a book, acted like a book, but absolutely failed to wake up my interest. I kept flipping pages hoping for a plot twist or a pulse. Spoiler: never found one.
DNF
I rarely DNF, but this one? Total nope. The vibe was off, there was content not expected, or I was just bored out of my caffeinated mind. Like a three-day-old drip coffee—stale, sad, and not worth finishing.
