Better Than the Movies has all the makings of a perfect rom-com, but it didn’t quite land for me. While the movie references and Wes had their moments, the lack of character growth, frustrating choices, and excessive language pulled me out of the story. I wanted to love this one—but it felt more like decaf than the real thing.

In Just Friends Forever, Stevie Jacobs tries to rebuild her life after a very public divorce and finds refuge with her longtime friend Troy Sheppard. As tabloids speculate about their relationship, the lines between friendship and something more begin to blur. While the romance felt a bit forced for me, the story shines in Stevie’s personal growth and the supportive Sheppard family dynamic.
